Choosing a clinician

In the UK anyone with a medical degree is licensed by law to perform cosmetic procedures, however the level of skill and experience varies widely. Ideally you should be treated by a person who has in depth knowledge and experience of the facial tissues.

You should decide what it is you are not happy with then find a fully trained clinician who has had experience in treating your particular problem.

It is better to meet with an advisor before you book in for a treatment so that you have time to think and ask questions, it is often less daunting than a meeting with a doctor or nurse, but always discuss your treatment with a fully qualified clinician before going ahead. By doing this all parties involved will be aware of everything and be more likely to meet your expectations

Make sure that the charge is inclusive of the treatment, any post treatment care and follow up appointments. There should be no hidden charges or extras.

A referral is the best form of endorsement. Find a clinic which has a good reputation, or one you already have a relationship with. This way you know what standards are met and you are comfortable with the people and environment.

Most importantly trust your instinct. Who you choose to perform your treatment should be your decision only, do not feel pressured into anything. If there is something you are not happy tell the clinician or find somewhere that you are completely comfortable.
